I am incredibly excited to be coming to Denmark soon for this year's Enter Art Fair. Over the past year, I have been working full on in my studios in France and London on a new body of work, which I am looking forward to presenting at Galerie Wolfsen's beautiful large stand (booth 63) at this year's fair in Copenhagen.
A few thoughts on the new body of work:
"My latest series of works finds inspiration in the idea of travelling. Not just the physical ones to foreign regions of the world, but also the journey of the mind, when thoughts and intuition lead the way. A mishmash of present, past and future. Myths and fiction. The natural and the supernatural.
Daydreaming is something I have done my whole life. As a child, I used creativity and especially drawing, as a doorway to disappear into other worlds. My father died when I was 10 years old. In an attempt to understand death, I became very interested in (fantastical) creatures from folklore and popular culture that exist in such a limbo; vampires, werewolves, trolls, goblins and ghosts. This childish fascination is forever anchored to my understanding of life and death; it is a companion at my side in the artistic practice I have today"
