The house is today national heritage and run by The National Trust. The origin of the digital printed wallpaper is hand modeled ceramic worms, photographed and reworked in Photoshop as a repeat pattern. At first glance the wallpaper seem harmless, but staring at it too long uncanny malicious faces appear. It tells the story of a nature that perhaps does not mean to harm, but have the intention of manifesting itself, to take over and take control. It is a tale of life and death, the motifs have the ambiguity of a Rorschach test, mimicking different things such as flora and the floral patterns of The Arts & Crafts wallpapers Morris designed, depictions of fantastical creatures such as the Green Man but also visual representations of the human reproductive anatomy.

Materials: digital printed wallpaper, ceramics
Size wallpaper: height: 300 cm. width: 74 cm.
Size ceramics: length: 3-30 cm.

"Till Death Us Do Part" is a site responsive piece made for the group show together with Studio Manifold called "This Is How To Live" in the Modernist house on 2 Willow Road Architect Ernö Goldfinger designed as a home for his family in Hampstead. The house is today national heritage and run by The National Trust.
2 Willow Road is a home with an absence of life, the Goldfinger family is long gone, their spirit is preserved only in the house itself and the objects displayed. My contribution to the house and the show is a sculpture that symbolises the life that once were.

(Wanna Come For A Walk In The Woods?) is made during a Guest Artist stay at International Ceramic Research Center Guldagergaard in the fall and winter of 2011.
The triangular shelf called a "Amagerhylde" is a traditional Danish knick-knack shelf. The knick-knack on my "Amagerhylde" all relates to music and instruments, the piece is a site-specific commission made for Ringsted Musik- og Kulturskole (a music school for children) located at the old military barracks in the Danish town of Ringsted. I wanted the Instruments to be visually ambiguous, the sausages and tree trunk could be a drum, a spider has turned a branch into a harp and the maracas are falling from the oak tree.

Materials: ceramics, embroidery, metal wire, MDF, LED

The setting is a wooden hut as we know it from the folk tales of Brothers Grimm. The viewer is intruding this reality shifting dark place. It is a fake wooden hut, a piece of theater-like scenery made from drawn wooden planks, the “Flintstones” aesthetic and Technicolor quality of the ceramics underlines the hyper real dreamlike feeling.
In the hut there is a fireplace, the burning logs look like hearts, but the hearts look like real hearts and the branches sticking out of them resembles blood filled arteries and veins. The hut is in a forest or maybe the hut is the forest; the wooden planks are sprouting and coming to life, or maybe they were alive and someone is cutting them down? This uncanny and dark fairytale is fragmented, like in a crime story the clues are scattered around, the viewer is the detective trying to make sense of it all.

The cellar hatch is a hidden space of subconscious restraint, a domestic portal from which phallic missiles penetrates the atmosphere. Visually the missiles do not look vicious and frightening, their cartoon-like shapes echoes turned table legs or playful spinning tops, the use of sparkling joyful color make us doubt the danger. Polyester fiber as an illusion of smoke emphasizes the naive visual language, it indicate a link with a nostalgic world of childhood, making shoebox dioramas with cotton wool clouds and plastic animals.

Size: height: 90 cm. width: 80 cm. depth: 100 cm.
Materials: ceramics, MDF, polyester fiber

Terunobu Fujimori’s Beetle´s House reminded me of the tree houses from my childhood in Denmark and the feeling of creating a private space that is your own. I have developed a technique of throwing pieces on the wheel then distorting the shape by adding pressure from the inside, until they almost collapse into bulky shapes. I try to capture the motion and softness of the clay. I want the tea set to reflect the movement of the liquid inside.
